Mosaic

Mosaic is a charitable, non governamental organasation.  Mosaic was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in November 2007 to challenge the growing concern around the issues facing young Muslims living in deprived areas in Britain.
The main aim of Mosaic is to extend a helping hand to those members of our Muslim communities who need it. This is done by increasing education opportunities for those who do not have them and raising aspirations.

Mosaic does not only run in the U.K but also reaches into 17 other countries and is now being established in Bahrain, Qatar & the U.A.E by individuals and organisations who have embraced the principles developed within the U.K.

This year , at Islamia Girls' school we have joint a number of programmes as follows:

The mentoring scheme:

Mosaic mentoring sessions aimto raise aspirations and broaden horizons, by providing positive role models, from a wealth of professional backgrounds and life experiencesand opening networks to access employment and education.  At least one session is organised for each year group, where students benefit from the various themes and topics covered, such as study skills, advice on entering a particular industry, CV preparation, interview techniques and general social skills.  Students can also be involved in what Mosaic calls 'World of Work visits'.  Participants are offered first hand experience of what it is like to be in an infuential work place, and an opportunity to meet professionals.
